EXHIBITION «world pop-art: from warhol to banksy»
2 works by Anashkina Olga were presented at the Exhibition project "World Pop-Art: from Warhol to Banksy".
The event was held at the National Center for Contemporary Art in Belarus.
Nearly 80 works were shown to the public, ranging from the most popular Marilyn artworks and Andy Warhol's Campbell Soup Cans to such brilliant but controversial contemporary successors to pop art as Richard Ryan and street art icon - Banksy.
Pop Art appealed to images that flooded people's lives in the mid-20th century: comic books, hamburgers, celebrities, refrigerators, Coca-Cola, cars, politicians, shoes, cigarettes... - "well, to all those cool modern things that abstract art so diligently didn't want to notice,” as the “king of pop art” Andy Warhol said.
The exhibition also featured works by contemporary Belarusian authors and works from the fund of the National Center for Contemporary Arts.
Olga presented two of her works: "Sofa Critic" and "I'm hearing you". The works go beyond the two-dimensionality of the canvas, this technique has become the leitmotif for the subsequent works of the artist.
